Did I finally meet Ariel? Uh duh.
So heres the thing. I was going to go today to meet Ariel then decided I would just go shopping instead at a Cast member store. Decided at this store I would run to the park and get a bag. Once at the park I caught the end of the parade. Then headed over to the Emporium but they didnt have the bag I wanted so I went to Fantasyland because obviously I knew they had it. Once I bought the bag I decided "hey, i'm already in Fantasyland, i'll go get a good look of Prince Eric's castle." Once at Prince Eric's castle I was like oh look. Ariels grotto is right there. Only a 25 minute wait? Sold.
So yeah...I met Ariel. All by myself. Because i'm a rockstar like that. Honestly didnt even care. The things I do for my favorite mermaid. Then after leaving the Grotto I happened across Gaston so yeah. It was a good day at the Magic Kingdom all by myself! :)
AND....a massive happy birthday to my brand new nephew!! Welcome into this world Easton!! Wish I could be there to hold you but Auntie Madison loves you!!!!!

Faith. Trust. And a Little Pixie Dust
Well..On Sunday I had a shift 4-2:30 AM. Ew. So early! I was working in Bonjour. This was my first time working in this store because it's in the new Fantasyland and it has to have its own costume so we dont work there too often because you're in the store the whole day. It wasnt too bad of a shift though because I was with some good people luckily. On my way to one of my teas (break) the fireworks was going on. I stopped to watch of course and guess who was next to me doing the same thing...Ariel! Yeah thats right. My all time favorite. So we're basically best friends now. The fireworks really bonded us. Just kidding..we just discussed the fireworks but still. It was exciting.
Monday and Tuesday I was in Zone 2. Yesterday (Tuesday) wasn't such a bad day because I met two different people from Utah. The first I talked to first because the dad has a Utes hat on. They currently live in New York but they are from Utah..so it counts. The second was a guy I was checking out (on the register. hahaha) and he saw my name tag and he was like "Oh representing Utah Valley" and I was like ya. You know where it is? And he was like yeah, I went to BYU, so bam. So exciting. We talked for like five minutes so it was fun!
Today and tomorrow I will be in Zone 2. Then I get a break! Hooray. Just kidding, I love my job. The kids are so fun. Yesterday while working in the Pooh shop I had a Pooh stuffed animal I was holding and made it look like he was waving. The kids were eating it up! Oh my gosh they were loving the idea that Winnie the Pooh was waving to them. So great!
Today it seemed like I was merchentaining basically my whole shift in Castle Coutour...therefore I am COVERED from head to toe in glitter. It's never gonna get off I swear!
Then, tonight I got a text saying Courtnie is gonna have her baby. I am so excited but a little sad obviously because i'm not there! :( But I knew that would happen obviously, I just wish I could be there.
I love the fireworks. Just ya know...took this while chilling with Ariel |
Major traffic jam coming home from Church. We seriously thought we were going to die. Sketchy traffic |
My costume for Bonjour...so interesting! |

Work. Work. Work.
My life is eat. sleep. work. Which whatever....I obviously came here to work so its fine. I have decided a few things though.
A. I prefer Zone 1 over Zone 2.
B. Lots of people try to speak to me in Spanish and I realize I literally learned nothing in my 4 years of Spanish.
C. Fantasy Faire is my favorite store because it actually plays music...and the Little Mermaid is some of that music!
D. If you get Pixie Dusted you will find that stuff all around the apartment days later...
E. When it rains, every single person has to buy a poncho and it gets out of control.
F. The park gets really busy during Mardi Gras, like I thought people go to New Orleans for that..but no. They go to Disney!
G. Aladdins part in the firework show is still my favorite and probably will always be. But the Hercules part is definitely a close second.
H. Never fail, there is always a child crying during the fireworks in a store because of the loud bangs. But to me, the fireworks never cease to be magical! :)
Anyway it's been a pretty uneventful week, besides it being cold and rainy. Being Valentines week all the princes were with the Princesses so that was fun to see more Princes out and about obviously. Because i'm clearly all about the Princes.
On Valentines day I was secretly glad it was rainy because I felt like that made the park not be so crazy. I came home from work from a rad package from my parents. This package was decked out in One Direction stuff so obviously I loved it while my roommates just rolled their eyes. In the package was some sweets for the roommates though so they all love Momma and Papa Packer. Haha!
Yesterday was a day off and the Missionaries came over to talk to me. They are so cute! :) I guess while I was checking them into the complex all my roommates were freaking out cause they thought the Missionaries were like making sure I could still be in the religion and like inspecting. Hahahaha. I laughed so hard. I was like uh actually they just came to talk to me and share a message. They are fantastic Elders though. I really think highly of them. After they left I went to a church dance with some girls I met at church. It was really fun! After the dance some people from the ward (the dance was only 2 wards...Orlando only has 2 single wards. werid.) went and got ice cream then went to a park. I didnt get home till like 2:30 and my roommates were freaking out. Hahaha oh my entertaining roommates. I love them though! :)

Stocking and Sunday
Alrighty...so yesterday I had to go in at 7 AM. Excuse me? If you know me you know I am the FURTHEST thing from a morning person. Seriously like Madison and Morning isn't even supposed to be in the same sentence. Anyway so the reason I had to be there at 7 when the park opened at 9 was to do morning stock. Umm..yeah not good because I have not been trained on how to do that so I had no knowledge of that at all. So I tagged along with a girl who did it. It was actually really neat because once she found out I was from Utah and that I was LDS she became so interested in learning everything I believe in. It was an awesome missionary experience. She could not wrap her head around the fact that we don't practice piligamy anymore. When we were talking about it infront of another cast member the other cast member was like "Wait, what religion are you?" And the cast member I had been talking to was like "Mormon. But not the crazy side." Hahaha I started laughing. Oh man. I've actually had opportunities every day to have missionary experiences. It's seriously so neat.
Today I was scheduled for Area Stock. Umm excuse me, I havent been trained remember? So yeah, it was a long day of just tagging along and I felt dumb and un-helpful but I survived. I came home, took a power nap and took off for Church.
Lets be real, since the moment I arrived in Orlando I have desperately wanted to meet some LDS kids. I was FINALLY able to attend Church today! Lucky for me I just have to take the bus like I am going to work. I get off at the same stop I do for work but instead of hopping on the shuttle that goes to the park, some members are there to shuttle us over to the church which is about a mile away. On my way to the bus the kid infront of me was wearing church clothes. As soon as we both stopped waiting for the bus he turned to me and was like "You going to church?" So then we got talking, met a couple more girls and talked the whole bus ride. It was great to be able to talk about Utah (we were all from Utah) and actually have people understand where I am coming from, why I do the things I do, and what not. The service was great. It was only sacrament meeting at 8 at night. The full block is at 9 in the morning but they have a sacrament meeting at night for those who had to work during the day. It's awesome so more people have the opportunity to participate of the Sacrament. Anyway a Sister missionary and Elder spoke. Honestly the whole time I was like man, answers to my prayers left and right. After the meeting I went and met with the bishop as we filled out a paper in order for my records to get sent here. He was so nice and we had a nice little chat. Once I got in the lobby the Elder who spoke approached me and talked to me. He asked if he could meet with me later this week and said they try to meet with the members about once every three weeks. He then told me if I need anything at all to contact them. Him and his companion were so sweet and i'm really looking forward to my meeting with them this week. I'm so glad I was able to attend tonight. It's so refreshing to attend Church and be surrounded by people who share the same beliefs.
Okay-sorry this post was rarely about Disney in itself. I was just pretty stoked to go to church!

First day working-First day off
I survived my very first day without a trainer!! Oh my word I was so scared but I got the hang of it. A lot of the times I really secretly wished the boy I had trained with had been working as well. Lucky for him he had the day off. But I wish he had been working with me because it just would have been comforting to have another newbie there with me. Specially since we trained together and what not. My favorite position while working is merchentainment. This is just when I walk around the store and interact with guest. I cant believe how many people dont speak english. Only like 20 percent do speak english I swear. It's amazing. My favorite part of my job so far is pixie dusting the little girls. You just sprinkle glitter onto the top of their heads and say "All it takes is faith, trust, and pixie dust and all your dreams will come true!" Oh my word, the smiles on their faces after you tell them they have been dusted by pixie dust straight from Tinkerbell is so fun! I cant help but smile after it's done! Love my job so far.
Today was my first day off and I went to Epcot. It was a blast! The people behind us on Test Track were laughing the whole ride at us and at the end a lady leaned forward and told us we were just as entertaining as the ride! We then traveled the world. Umm hello I ran into Aladdin. Obviously I got so excited and had to get a picture with him. Waited in line with girls between the ages of 3-7 and then there was Me, Erin (who I met through a friend in high school) and her friend. So worth it though. While taking the picture of Aladdin, Jasmine and me Erin told Aladdin I was his biggest fan. Aladdin was like "maybe we should get you a giant fan then" saying to like cool me down cause I was like on cloud nine. THEN...get this. He lent his arm for me and said "do you trust me?" You know..like in the movie right before A Whole New World. I could've melted. Gosh I love Aladdin. Just get me a picture with Ariel and it's a successful internship!
I love being able to go into the parks whenever I want! I love being here! It's incredible! Go Disney go!!

Last day of Training
Alright I decided to blog about today because why the heck not. Today was my last day of training. Oh my heck. I'm so scared to start tomorrow! I've worked in all the stores already i'm just worried since I wont have a trainer there next to me making sure I can do everything. I have had some great trainers these past couple of days. Honestly they have been so helpful and so nice! There has been a couple of people who started training the same day I did but the past couple of days just me and one other boy got put in our own group for training. This has been extremely helpful considering we get more attention from our trainers. And might I just add a comment the kid i'm training with said today that just made my heart melt! Alright so we were working behind a register and a little girl came up in her cute little princess dress and she was looking for a garbage. He was like "what can I help you with Princess" and she asked if he could throw it away and of course he took it. He then turned to me and said "little girls are my weakness. They are so adorable." Oh my word. Seriously can we please just all admit how adorable that is. Because it was! It definitely was.
Also today we had to take an assessment test. Oh my word during this time in the computer lab I had a Madison moment. AKA Madison get a giggling fit and cant stop laughing. Mind you..its a little embarrassing when the boy is cute. (and if he ever stumbles upon this blog I will die of embarrassment. But not really. But really). Anyway-so he ended up having to take the test again then I got locked out of an assessment and had to call IT and we were just a wreck. Like we kept joking that the trainer couldnt wait to get rid of us because we were just a wreck. Like incident after incident kept happening, ergo why I was laughing. Just one of those moments where things go down and there really isnt much to do but laugh. Mind you, he was laughing as well.
We did have a pretty good bonding moment though over the NBA. Yeah thats right. I'm knowledgeable in that happening and he was rather impressed. Plus he found it really cool I've actually met the Utah Jazz players. What up.
So moral of the story. Training has been relaxed (but not really because holy cow some of those stores can get out of control) but its been fun. I really think i'm going to enjoy my job! :) But why not? The main goal of my job is to have fun and i'm in the happiest place on earth! Wahoo!!

Training
I cant believe I only checked in a week ago. Honestly it seems like I have been here for much longer!! So...since I last posted I have just been doing training.
That first day we met in the costume place and got our costumes. Uhh yeah. My shirt looks like something they would wear in Holland and my skirt has chickens on it. The boys outfit though makes me think of something the people at the Matterhorn in Disneyland would wear. The boys i am training with (just me and 2 boys) they were happy because they were afraid they would be wearing pink or tights or something considering its Fantasyland. That first day of training was basically just looking at the shops we would be working in and some E-learning. The second day we met at Disney University and had Merchentainment class. This was for all the new people of the week who are in merchandise. The next day, yesterday, we just got a tour of the Magic Kingdom. This was actually boring to me because i've been going to Disneyland for years so basically knew everything they were saying. Somethings were interesting though and it was nice to get a feel for this Magic Kingdom considering its a little different than Disneylands. Plus, we got to ride a couple of rides. I'm sorry, I got paid to ride rides? Uhh yeah. I like the way Disney trains.
Today I got to work in the stores for a little bit. It was fun to interact with the guests. I love being in Fantasyland already because I love seeing all the little kids who are so excited to be there! Tomorrow is my last day of training then its the real deal. Everyone who I will be working with that I have met are really nice so thats helpful. Fantasyland is a bit hectic considering the new expansion but I am so thrilled to be there.
So far I have only made it Magic Kingdom and Epcot when it comes to just playing. But thats fine right...I got a couple months to play! :)
For most people its really cold here in Florida. And honestly, yesterday during the tour of the park I was freezing! I had to wear a dress and didnt have a coat obviously (left that thing in Utah for sure!) but most the time people are shivering and i'm like uhh in Utah this weather is when you bring out the shorts. So for me it hasnt been too bad. Today at the park they had Joe something from the Super Bowl in the parade. (Not too educated on my NFL..NBA is a different story) This brought lots of people to the park and it was crazy busy while walking from store to store. And of course lots of people have to come check out the new part of Fantasyland (which I love. It has Prince Erics castle..of course I love it!)
